Description

This Icon of Christ Pantocrator presents one of the most central and ancient images of Christian art. Christ Pantocrator portrays Jesus Christ as the sovereign ruler of the world. In this bust-length depiction, the Lord is shown with a solemn, forward-gazing expression, long brown hair, and a beard. He holds the Gospel book in His left hand while His right hand offers a blessing.

A cruciform halo encircles Christ’s head, with the Greek abbreviation IC XC for Jesus Christ. The Christ Pantocrator image has remained largely unchanged for more than 1,500 years and is among the oldest surviving artistic representations of Jesus, especially associated with early cave churches. This Orthodox Christian icon offers a reverent presentation of the Savior for a home or parish.

Theophany Works Icons are handcrafted reproductions made with prayer and a desire for excellence. Select the standard mounted museum-quality paper option or upgrade to museum-quality matte canvas. Both formats provide rich printing with saturated coloration and receive a high-grade UV protection sealant that adds a subtle tactile texture and may be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Each mounted icon is prepared on a maple-shelled panel with a painted chamfered front edge and a rounded back edge, creating a shadow-box effect when hung on a wall. A sliding keyhole slot on the back allows for balanced hanging. Made in America, this Christ Pantocrator icon reproduction is offered as an accessible alternative to a hand-painted icon.
