In the Orthodox teaching, marriage as a mystery/sacrament is primarily about living a life of martyrdom. Dying to the self and living for the sake and the good of the other is paramount.

With this icon you can select 2 Patron Saints (1 for Husband and 1 for Wife) to be placed along with their names. Likewise, you can give the date of the wedding to be included in the center below the cross.

Such an icon is a great gift to both a newly established husband and wife or those who have been married for any length of time. It is a constant reminder to call on the help of the couple's patron Saints and likewise to ever seek the blessing of the Lord in all things. Christ holding out the crowns (since it is Christ who binds the couple together in marriage) along with 2 angels is a standard with every wedding icon.
