Saint Paul's Background and Conversion
Saint Paul, originally named Saul, was a prominent figure from the tribe of Benjamin, hailing from Tarsus in Cilicia. He identified himself as a Hebrew, an Israelite descended from Abraham (2 Cor. 11:22), and was a Pharisee who studied the Law under the renowned Gamaliel in Jerusalem. Professionally, he was a tent-maker (Acts 18:3). Initially, Paul was a fierce persecutor of the Church, even being present at the stoning of Saint Stephen (Acts 7:58). His life took a dramatic turn on the road to Damascus when Christ appeared to him, blinding him with a divine vision. He regained his sight when Ananias laid hands on him, and was subsequently baptized (Acts 9:18), marking his miraculous conversion.
Paul's Missionary Journeys and Martyrdom
Following his conversion, Saint Paul embarked on extensive missionary journeys, spreading the Gospel throughout Greece, Asia Minor, and eventually to Rome. His prolific ministry included the authorship of fourteen Epistles, which form a significant portion of the New Testament and offer profound theological insights. According to sacred Tradition, Saint Paul ultimately sealed his unwavering commitment to Christ with his life, suffering martyrdom in Rome around the year 68 AD.

Each of our icons are printed on museum-quality matte canvas, providing a rich print with saturated coloration that lends to a beautiful handwritten-icon appearance.
All Theophany Works Icons are mounted on beveled wooden boards and finished with a high-quality UV protection sealant. This offers a subtle authentic-feeling texture while also enhancing durability, allowing for cleaning with a damp cloth. Additionally, each icon is given a maple-shelled keyhole slot on its back for easy and balanced hanging.
