Serbian Cross - White "Dad" Hat

***The significance of this cross design:

The Serbian Cross (Serbian: Cрпски крст / Srpski krst) serves as a national emblem of Serbia, integrated into both the Serbian coat of arms and flag, and is also a symbol of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Its design originates from the tetragrammic cross emblem of the Byzantine Palaiologos dynasty. A key distinction in its Serbian application is the typical color scheme: a white cross on a red background, contrasting with the Byzantine gold on red, though a gold depiction is also possible.

The cross design features four "fire striker" shapes. These shapes were originally derived from four Greek letters beta (Β). Serbian tradition attributes these letters to Saint Sava, who was the Metropolitan of Žiča and Archbishop of the Serbs in the 13th century. A popular interpretation also views these four "fire striker" shapes as four Cyrillic letters "S" (С), representing the motto "Samo sloga Srbina spasava" (Serbian Cyrillic: Само слога Србина спасава), which translates to "Only Unity Saves the Serbs." Throughout history, the Serbian Cross, alongside the double-headed eagle, has been a primary heraldic symbol embodying the national identity of the Serb people.
