Theophany Works
With God’s Help, Theophany Works was established in 2022. Beginning from humble roots, genuine friendship, commitment to Holy Orthodoxy as well as a desire to serve God with the talents & abilities He had given, the team of Theophany Works began to envision how we could contribute to our local parish while also spreading the Faith throughout the US and abroad.
Each member of the team found Holy Orthodoxy through many trials, hardships, joys & miracles, and each person involved has grown profoundly in love & appreciation for the beauty & traditions found in Christ’s Church. With the blessing of our spiritual fathers and bishops, the team began working on prototypes for printed and mounted iconography.
The goal was to create reproduction iconography that would incorporate a number of features seen through various historic and contemporary examples of iconographic work and combine them into one complete look that could be offered to the faithful at a competitive price. The majority of Theophany Work's iconography has been photographed onsite at churches and monasteries which results in high resolution files that are exceptional in clarity even when printed in larger sizes.
The Iconography
Theophany Works iconography is prayerfully reproduced by hand and the result is a beautiful work with a tactile & natural appeal. Our wood panels have smooth, routered edges on the back with sanded chamford angles on the face edges that offer a handcrafted elegance that is also refined in its appearance . All our iconography is printed with archival ink on museum quality pressed paper as well as fine art canvas, (both rated for exceptional color life), and mounted onto smooth maple shelled panels. Sealing each icon is a UV protectant clear coat that offers a subtle texture which displays beautifully on the wall or prayer corner and feels wonderful to the touch. The edges of the boards are most often painted in a traditional byzantine red, harkening back to the border lines of traditional Macedonian frescos. Finally, the reverse side of the icons display their sanded maple surface, sliding keyhole hanger slot with the Theophany Works mark of authenticity carefully burned into the wood with a hot brandishing iron.
Along with hand-made iconographic reprints, the team has begun to pull together other items that support the home altars & prayer corners of the faithful and are even being used within many parish temples. In addition to iconography, Theophany Works offers a growing selection of goods such as, genuine beeswax candles, traditional incense, brass censers, prayer books, prayer ropes, apparel and gift items. Partnerships with Iconographers
Theophany Works has been blessed to find partnerships with iconographers who have given their blessing for the use of their work, which also promotes their own goals of writing/painting larger projects. Our premere partner is Kyriakos Kosova.
